Bashing a medical-officer infront of a nurse- was it so necessary?

"If you do this again then I will kick you out from this institution!"- this was the last sentence of the angry Professor. He couldn't check his tears when the frustrated and sad looking medical officer lets say Dr."X" was saying his sad story.

Dr."X" s only fault was he made a few minutes of delay attending one admitted patient in the CCU in past. One concerned nurse bring this matter directly to the cardiology head. And later the Professor charged him and bashed him mercilessly infront of that complaining nurse!

Respected Sir,with all due respect... By no way any other person have the rights to make any comments the way you oversee the administration run under you. No doubt  its entirely upon you and your judgement by which way you will handle and discipline your subordinates. Yet maybe, just maybe, it was little better if you didn't harsh that doctor infront of one third class employee, rather you could tell him it privately.

Over 60 students of Dhaka University (DU) were injured Tuesday following a clash between two factions of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) over establishing supremacy in the country's highest public educational institution.

Witnesses and students said two groups of the ruling party's student wing attacked each other with firearms and sharp weapons to take control of Haji Mohammad Mohsin Hall that turned the area into a veritable battlefield in the early hours.

The skirmishes left more than 60 people injured who were taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital and medical centre of the university.

Of the injured students -- Mahi, Hasan and Ashik -- were moved to the National Institute of Traumatology and Orthopaedic Rehabilitation (NITOR), popularly known as Pangu Hospital as their conditions were reported to be critical.

Hall sources said the students locked in the clash fired nearly a dozen gun shots and exploded more than 35 handmade bombs during the chase and counter chase, triggering panic among the hall residents.

On information, riot police clad in vests and helmets rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control.

During a raid at the dormitory, the law enforcers recovered one loaded pistol, sticks and sharp weapons, Officer-in-Charge of Shahbagh Police Station Rezaul Karim said.

Meanwhile, BCL hall unit president Mohammad Ali said some eight BCL activists were expelled from the party for creating anarchy in the hall violating rules.

Late Prof.Mahbubur Rahman Azad sir, some thoughts (Part two)

Today here in DNMC and DNMCH no teacher will ever say his fellow students "goru" or "gadha" anymore! I'm feeling myself so blessed to be one of his student for many long years. It is quite uncertain how long it may take to find a good teacher and a skilled surgeon like Azad sir. His teaching style was so unique that even the most "fakibaz" type of student also used to do his class regularly in most of the time.

Late Prof.(Dr.) M.R.Azad sir with no apparent good reason chosed this institution for his own treatment possibly from his great affection, love and faith for this institution and those people works here. It has been said that the concerned healthcare professionals did not and could not follow the standard treatment protocol and failed to provide him the best available treatment needed at that very moment to save his life, and he simply died without any treatment/with a poor treatment.

By no way I am in a position to verify this information for its credibility. I just want to believe myself that this merely a rumour, a false assumtion in every means. On the other side, even if there is little truth behing this, someone or something must be responsible for "killing" him. And the "murderers" must be identified and face the judiciary on the ground of professional negligence, if not for a murder charge! They should be exempt from practising this noble profession anymore.

Then the very next step is to correcting the errors withing the whole system, finding the holes and repairing them. Careful "monitoring and evaluation" should be established on a routine basis. The administration must findout the roots of the problems and correct them as soon as possible within a given deadline. Unless we are doing this right now who knows worse may not happen again and again and again!

Late Prof.Mahbubur Rahman Azad sir, some thoughts

We all know that a few weeks ago our beloved teacher Prof. M.R.Azad sir had passed away. He chosed to treat himself in DNMCH, a hospital far away from his own residence where he first fell sick. There were many good healthcare facilities around his residence, like NICVD but he chosed the distant DNMCH. I talked many people who called him a foolish one, and a person with a lack of judgement beacuse of his last decision.
Professor Mahbubur Rahman Azad sir didn't hesitate himself for a single moment to choose DNMCH for his own treatment. Let us carry that same spirit within us. By doing this he set us an example of honesty and sincerety infront of us. Maybe from his deed there is something we can learn. By choosing DNMCH he showed us his honest love, sincerety, dedication and responsibility to this institution(DNMCH+DNMC), to his fellow students (past & present), and his patients. Let us follow that same spirit within us!

Many years ago someone defined leadership like this: "A TRUE LEADER IS ONE WHO KNOWS THE WAY, SHOWS THE WAY,AND GOES THE WAY!" Azad sir showed us a way which he knew was right and he himself went on that way. Maybe we can follow him still today!

REST IN PEACE...

P.S.- If you would like to share some of your own thoughts on Late M.R.Azad sir??? Please don't hesitate and write it down in the comments section below.
